The autopsy notes two bullet wounds even though there were three shooters, and a forensic expert says the misfires likely caused "excruciating conscious pain and suffering."

I thought it was standard procedure for firing squads that one rifle has a blank (though which one is unknown) so that the squad members can always tell themselves "I didn't kill them. I had the blank."

The article says that isn’t the case in SC apparently. All guns are supposed to be loaded with live rounds.
