I'm not really pro-ai, but I think there is a certain irony in using the copyright laundering machine against big tech. we knew for a long time they didn't care about those stupid rules, but now we have a way to bypass them en masse as well (as long as they continue selling llm usage at a loss)

how the turn tables have turned or something.. i wonder if people will be creating endless amounts of these, leading to a diluted, useless ecosystem of claude slop alternatives to professional products. on the other hand, if a specific project pulls ahead (in quality/"market share" wise),

i feel like theyd just try to profit off of it at some point, leading to this very situation again.. like, either way, im afraid that so many resources are going to be wasted, which is why "(as long as they continue selling llm usage at a loss)" is important

We have been vibe forking proprietary things the whole time it just usually doesnt make the news.

im certainly enjoying watching decades of proprietary software be completely torn apart and rebuilt in a matter of months and weeks

but also we already had open source versions of photoshop, illustrator, word, excel and all. y'all were just whiny bitches because it wasn't a 1:1 recreation
