What I've learned in since posting an AI disclosure: - I should keep my opinions to myself - I am willfully destroying the earth - I should cease all project development - I am a clown - I am, somehow, against human and environmental rights I thought I was being ethical and responsible; guess not.

FWIW your disclosure and use of AI matches mine very closely. It's a freaking tool like any other, and I'll be damned if I am not going to use it to get the creative ideas out of my head, I just won't let it create for me, and whatever it spits out I'll seek to understand, not blindly use.

legitimately thought it was an interesting jumping off point for my own thoughts on it, and I hope you didn't get slammed too hard from my quote posting it. I thought it was good.

These people might eat meat, use fossil fuels, buy Nestle products and are wilfully ignorant of moral grey areas - AI is just spicy autocomplete with the same GPU consumption profile as encoding video. It almost feels like selective outrage as things like user tracking are almost as impactful imo.

Once the hype cycle has settled down and everyone is running models at the edge at low power and findings are diffuse and shared it’ll be a non issue. You’re right about the trajectory. It’s all just tech, but we’re in a stupid and precipitous hype cycle. Sooner it blows over the better.

It's a very thick line I've had to keep out of because both sides are set on their opinions. The fact though that the topic in any context results in backlash from a social standpoint.......yeah that bothers me because it's like putting your fingers in your ears and going LALALALALALALA.
