Ha! Mostly, that's fair... but in this instance, I think it's a decent streamlining of things. It was kinda superfluous to have as well as the CWV report stuff. Rolling them into one does kinda make sense.

Actually, maybe this trope needs updating?
"ChatGPT, write 500 words on the death of the Page Experience report and why it means UX is a waste of time" 😂😭
I'm pretty sure I have ~50% of the original Star Wars movie script committed to memory so I had to read that a couple of times 'til my brain got it... 🍷😄
It's the summary page - all the data is still in the CWV & HTTPS reports. No numbers are going away (and TBH the CWV numbers are in many places anyway).
About time we put the overemphasis on CWV back in the bag. Google’s comm strategy here has been terrible more back n forths than someone who ate bad Chinese food after 10pm
Plus, it's a total distraction for devs or bad SEO agencies who use it as a way to monetize client work with visible metrics which don't normally move the search traffic needle (i.e. relevance to query does not improve with CWV metric improvement).
Ultimate red flag territory if I see people still emphasising CWV at the top of their SEO roadmap, unless EVERYTHING ELSE is pretty solid or performance is AWFUL.
Totally. That and ridiculous recommendations around toxic backlink profile. Just ways to use a number to quantify charging for pointless activities. Plus, if everything else was pretty solid I’d be moving onto how to gow things through more strategic approaches over silly time-wasting tactics
Indeed. Especially when half the time, CWV doesn't relate to real-world performance.
E.g. I can just install 2-3 WordPress plugins to get a 95/100 CWV score, yet the actual rendering of the page and it's payload is worse in reality.
