every app I used that got acquired by Bending Spoons has worsened its UX a lot with awful weekly subscriptions and so on I'm not saying they do a bad job necessarily but I'd rather pay more for Obsidian to make it sustainable for you to stay independent

Do you mean they’re the European equivalent of Atlassian?
