So I get that there's (yet again) a big debate going on about AI on Bluesky. I am turning off replies to this post because I don't want to have notifications flooded one way or the other on this one. I just want to share what I've heard multiple times in just the past two weeks.

Just finished S5 of The Boys and wow it suuuuuucked. Very disappointing the more I watch videos talking about all the issues the more I'm annoyed at it So many useless McGuffins and useless dick and ass jokes

I got so irritated at Threads showing me an endless barrage of inflammatory posts about meta glasses that I uninstalled the app at least for a couple of days I'll try to spend a bit more time here

I now fervently believe this. Relatedly, I think celebrating good news and embracing joy are equally radical. You have to remember what you’re fighting for. We cannot sustainably organize around sorrow.

Saeed Jones@theferocity.bsky.social

I’m coming to understand that maintaining hope is radical.

looking for #podcast recommendations, I need something light hearted/funny to listen cause otherwise I'm just listening to depressing news-based things or stuff that's work adjacent Italian or English is fine! I like science, math, tech, urbanism (?), open to all kinds of suggestions

I ended up using Notion Calendar's built in solution for this, since it has the plus of not showing a duplicate event if YouTube the app (other calendar app show a "busy" event blocked on the synced calendar)

I'm looking for an app to sync calendars to avoid double booking and for the first time I like the fake reviews in a website lol this is dontdoublebookme.com btw, haven't tried the service yet but I will probably if anyone has suggestions or a good self hosted tool to do this thing please tell me

sorry just discovered that in Singapore they have CANING as a form of judicial punishment? And they will cane online scammers?? (Link in next post)

I think the very core of the Tinder app experience is, to put it simply, grueling Like as a user I'm extremely annoyed at just opening the app and using it I get that it's a super hard problem, but it's just an experience that doesn't seem that satisfying for nobody?

I'm quite sad at @teenvogue.com folding into Vogue and what's happening to its Politics writers and editors Over the years Teen Vogue has had some brilliant pieces of political journalism (despite what the branding might have suggested to outsiders, me included until a while ago)

hollywoodreporter.comAs Condé Nast Folds Teen Vogue Into Vogue’s Website, NewsGuild Condemns the PlanThe union, which reps staffers, says the move was "clearly designed" to blunt the journalism of the brand, which has leaned in to progressive politics.

#chatcontrol #privacy #unioneeuropea #whatsapp

This was always the funniest conspiracy theory to me — that there are MRI machine-like devices that can cure all known illnesses in seconds, but the government has been hiding them — and Trump just posted an AI generated video of himself announcing they're real. We're cooked!

This is why all the pushing and shaming about individual AI use kinda loses me; I absolutely agree there are problems with data centers and the environment, sure, but if we want to push people towards effective individual change let's try harder on consuming less beef no?

#charliekirk #foglioai #giornalismo

surely a coincidence

A DOJ study showing most domestic terrorism in the US comes from the far right is suddenly missing and replaced with a note saying DOJ is complying with Trump's executive order www.404media.co/doj-deletes-...

uh that looks like a mess

The new TikTok US entity would be controlled by a consortium of Silver Lake, Andreessen-Horowitz, and Oracle. 80% US, 20% China ownership. One board member appointed by the US government. Existing users would be expected to shift to a new app (lol). Would not be surprised if this nukes usership.

#charliekirk #dibattiti

We need more of this journalism it's so funny

I forgot about this for a while but the Bryce Elder "Sam Altman's kitchen" piece may be one of my favourite things I've read in business or tech history. www.ft.com/content/b180...

the lesson of this isn't that tucker carlson is actually good but that you should ask these people basic factual questions instead of bullshit about politics

I'll be honest, I haven't once felt the need or desire to use Apple Intelligence's "Writing Tools", but I would PAY to be able to add a shortcut to the system copy/paste popup so I can quickly do a word count I'm not against AI tools but why can't we have also other stuff easily accessible :0
