New pinned thread for the new year. Hi, I'm Orrin Grey, a Rondo Award-nominated author who writes about monsters, movies, and monster movies! (Also ghosts, ghouls, and other spooky stuff.) My website is at: orringrey.com

My short stories have been published in dozens of anthologies, including several apperances in @datlow.bsky.social's Best Horror of the Year. My latest collection is Notes from Underground from @wordhorde.bsky.social. wordhorde.com/books/notes-...

My most recent nonfiction book is Glowing in the Dark, also from @wordhorde.bsky.social, which nabbed the aforementioned Rondo Award nomination. wordhorde.com/books/glowin...

One of my favorite topics to write about is old horror and monster movies from before the 1970s. In fact, I've got a whole Patreon dedicated to it that currently updates monthly:

I'm a full-time freelance writer and editor, which means I'll write about just about anything (and have) if the money is there. I'm always on the lookout for new clients, so if you want to hire me, feel free to reach out:

I'm also movies editor at Exploits, an @unwinnable.com publication, so if you're interested in writing short essays about movies for an extremely modest paycheck, hit me up.
