X is my favorite too. When I finally played it two years ago, I ended up 100% both it and X2 back-to-back 😅 I felt a real sense of loss when it was over. What FFs have you played?

I still need to play X-2, I tried it but was confused and overwhelmed by the dress sphere system lol I’ve only finished 7, 10, and the 7 remakes. I’ve played some of a few others, but other than X-2, I want to go through 6 and 9 next!

XII in my theory is what inspired Xenoblade. It's the only game that I can find that's similar. Just more turned/menu base but it has the same vibes. Absolutely fun and my dark horse of the series that I wish more people talked about. The gambit system is revolutionary!

If you don't fall in love with Balthier I would pay you what you paid for the game. Money back guaranteed. Sorry my lunch break was over and I had to go back to stocking shelves for the beautiful residents of Florida 🙄

Don't be afraid of the junction system or the GFS! (The aeons of VIII). Basically imagine if Yuna ducktaped an Aeon to her, and depending on which one, it allows her to get stat increases for specific attributes. You use your magic inventory to increase said stats.

So... if Ifrit is taped to Yuna, that would be a good one to raise your strength and vit attributes. You would use Fire magic for strength and revive/cure magic for vit. That's how you "level up" in VIII! That's basically all there is to it. It sounds scary but it's super simple and fun.

I just played VI for the first time like a month ago! That's the one that got pretty close to overthrowing X! It's probably the most fun I had with a FF. But, X still felt like FF firing at all cylinders. IX has the best writing hands down! I've played VII OG but gotta find time for remakes. 😂

That is so fair. When I jumped into X-2 my brain just said "what" but when I finally got over that hurdle (which did take awhile!) and understood the mechanics, everything clicked. And the combat became insanely fun, and it can get so *fast*. It's a huge adrenaline rush.
