Over at the newsletter I wrote about Mark Ruffalo's showdown with Paramount:

The $111 billion Paramount Warner Brothers deal is an irredeemable turd orchestrated by a Trump-allied fascist. Conditions (which would be temporary and probably not enforced) can't save it, and Democrats should grow a consistent backbone on media consolidation and antitrust.

I can’t think of any media consolidation that genuinely benefited the customers or most employees, not that those factions matter when the only game in town is C-suite maneuvering and stock valuations.

it's really not subtle! Yet if you read most media coverage of media mergers it's just...not deemed contextually relevant. Curious how that works!

Being thinking a lot of how tech abetting media consolidation just destroys utterly a framework of understanding anything outside of the frames of the owner class. Entire valid points of view that won’t even get a iota of thought.

I'm fascinated by it, genuinely. It's just getting worse, too. And Democrats SUCK when it comes to identifying threats and formulating reforms.
