Cannot wait to be excluded from places because 1. I would rather not share my ID with a US company that *totally* is gonna follow GDPR and *totally* will not share my data with third parties 2. I would rather not exclude people that cannot or do not want to get verified Yippieeee

Meh I don't see this as a big problem, this kind of service is the same that an online bank or other financial platform might use, but on those you usually have to get on a video call with a rep instead of just uploading a picture of your ID.

I have done that exactly once and that was only because the company was based in europe and did not require any video

That has to have been quite some time ago then. Pretty sure KYC requirements for financial services have included the video portion for several years at this point.

Okay that's interesting, when I made my account with them like 4 years ago I had to do the while video thing 🤔
