I love love love love the idea that someone might come along, read something, decide the translation sucks, and make a record with something they think is better. This is such a beautiful opening of the source to us all, in such a glorious way. Good luck, godspeed Locale.at.

please fix the rounding for the join waitlist button (squarish corners) in the navbar (completely rounded corners).. (actually, why does this site have a navbar right now? none of its functions are necessary for a landing page? & the multiple waitlist forms, the "Localization, on the AT Protocol"?)

seems like a fun idea; I didn't know about a lock-in issue for translations. it's just the website doesn't instill confidence

We will handle collaboration on the appview side where project owners can review or automatically push translations, the data stays in the translstor's PDS

wouldn't tangled's approach of projects having their own atproto identity be better here. it doesn't seem reasonable that the answer to "what if contributors delete their account and takes the locale strings hostage" is "we'll let the appview handle it"

I agree that for collaborative work it's important to have a custodian to act as the data owner and then the application effectively facilitates creating/updating the records. You can just create records on each translators repo to attest their contributions, even have "unpublished" translations ๐Ÿงต

Yessssssss! Awesome stuff! Padding labs, migrating the foundations of the web to atproto since forever ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'd be interested in something like this for @sifa.id The landing page is missing something imho: it's very much aimed at the person doing the translation (which ok: fair), but in order for their translations to do anything, you need buy-in from the people building the apps/sites that implement it

... and I'm missing info for that part of the audience It only works if there's a (big enough) benefit for both sides to transition to Locale :)
