I've got something exciting for Friday but until then let me plug Vivarium tangled.org/chris.pardy.... Vivarium is an "Atmosphere In a Box" (not that one) that I've been using for development on a number of project since I first built it back in August. It lets me run CI against the atomsphere.

The goal is to build a single executable (no docker needed) that leverages a plugin architecture so when we say "The Atmosphere" we don't just mean PLC, PDS, Relay, Jetstream but also things like @microcosm.blue, @atmosphere.money, @typeahead.waow.tech, @comail.at, etc.

Running CI against a local network of PDS and relay catches federation bugs that mocks hide. Unauthenticated admin endpoints are fine there as long as the binary refuses to bind outside localhost.

By default it binds to 127.0.0.1 so it shouldn't be susceptible to outside "attack" but honestly even if someone else gets in it's a low value attack surface to take over a temporary CI system. The idea is that your test harness creates all the accounts on startup and at the end the system is wiped
