Indeed, and it will be one of the hardest part to get right. This has always been the case in Vite, though. And one of the drivers for Environment API from deploy platforms. I don't think we can ever do dev with porffor, so we're back to making sure the compatibility story is good territory.

I think you could, Porffor compiles to wasm so you should be able to compile to individual modules that depend on each other in dev, just as wasm instead of JS.

Ya, but porffor will always be slower than running the code in node directly. Maybe it is fast enough for small servers and then Environment API can help. cc @goose.icu
