There are genres and authors I will never be able to read because the dialog is written in dialect, and I loathe cryptographic word games. “There’s nobbut t’ missis; and shoo’ll not oppen ’t an ye mak’ yer flaysome dins till neeght.”

When trying to transliterate the thing a southern lady says to you when shortening "honey" do you write "hun" or "hon" ? And do you include an apostrophe?

I can use Google translate that to render that in Spanish "No hay más que la señora; y no la abrirás y harás tus desolladores ruidos hasta que llegue la hora". Then back to English: "There is only the lady; and you shall not open it—nor make your rending noises—until the time arrives."

Which gives me the gists, but it will take me till mid-2027 to finish Wuthering Heights that way.
