If all these wealthy people and corporations were taxed appropriately they’d probably have less money to throw around buying influence and elections. Wouldn’t that trickle down to benefit those who generate the profits (working class) and increase their own spending and profits for companies?

This. Thanks to SCOTUS, Trump and the GOP, it is not accurate to label the most recent year’s “donations” or “contributions” to Republicans as such, rather they are BRIBES in the truest sense of the word.
