I have several friends who aren't Latino but speak fluent Spanish. I'm not fluent but can make do. Pride in being mono-lingual and ignorant is sad.

As an older folk myself, it’s an older folk thing to a large degree having to do with not understanding rap type speak. Also, Spanish sounds differently depending on which country you learned the language. But the music gets the old body moving.
