there is some stuff in here that is really understandable but demanding that he engage "with our community on its own terms, respecting the deep connection many Michigan Jews have to Israel" is just trying to exercise a veto point that has been lost.

I dunno I read "Disagreeing with the top of the ticket on foreign policy does not mean walking away from our values ..." addressed at their constituents to be a pretty clear appeal to not give up on them (and by extension, on the Democrats at large, and thus El-Sayed) in spite of any reservations.

Democrats who think they can dictate a bear hug of Israel to the party are either 1) deluded 2) about to find a new party Y'all lost that fight, whether you realize it or not. It's over and it's been over for a while now.

Furthermore, I think the “deep connection to Israel” has been eroding amongst American Jews for many years now. And with very good reason.
