Quite rare to see a chart that says quite so overtly that no one involved has the slightest clue what’s happening here

Not to be a nitpicker, but in the human extinction event, wouldn't GDP *per capita* first go UP since there were fewer capitas to divide the GDP by?

I'm pretty sure that, in this graph, "real GDP per capita" just means "good stuff that people like"
