Thermal glass has actually gotten pretty good. Can't speak to this application in particular, but a lot of innovation has be spurred by glass highrise construction

biggest variable nowadays is the age and condition of the gaskets, IMO. that and how full the fridge is. we as a society have gotten very good at cooling small volumes with minimal energy.
