one nice thing about playdate is that our Catalog store is optional — you can sideload games from anywhere! this incldues itch. so the choice is yours what to support. fwiw, we just banned ai art, music, and writing from Catalog this month, and we will continue to work on this stuff moving forward.

Sweet! I was late to the party, got mine recently so I'm still getting my seasonal games. If Season 3 comes out right after that I'm gonna be a very happy camper.

Any news on when the restock for the Playdate will happen? I'm considering buying one but they're currently saying on back order so I figured if I'm waiting anyway I may as well wait until they're in stock again before buying one.

Awesome news! If I could make one request it would be that you disclose whether or not certain games in Season 3 were developed with Generative AI or not, since you didn't disclose that one of the Season 2 games was developed using it, which was the singular blotch in an otherwise great season.

we can happily confirm that it was a requirement for all season three devs that no ai can be used in season three games. this includes art, music, writing, and, yes, code.
