Replace "Boeing 737s" with "empty warehouses" and you've got the same play that DHS under Noem pulled. And a source on background told us in February the sales were meant to help well-connected Trump affiliates offload industrial properties that were liabilities on their books.

Tantalizing new clue here from @markalfred.bsky.social on the failed “deportation fleet.” I first reported in February that DHS contractor (a former Noem donor) overpaid for the planes, starting last December. gillianbrockell.com/noems-luxury...

Buy high; sell low. Clearly there is a great mind behind these extraordinary deals. It's a shame that I'm too stupid to see this as anything but waste, fraud, and abuse.

It is going to take YEARS AND YEARS to unravel all the grift and crime this regime is committing. Seems like everyone has their hand in the pot. If you've ever been a Drumpf associate, he's helping you get richer. Somehow. There's always a story behind every single transaction the govt undertakes.

I was wondering when we'd find out who owned those warehouses and that USG paid over the asking price. There's always a grift with Trump and his cronies. We're going to find out that they've completely emptied the USG bank accounts and then loaned themselves even more interest-free, aren't we?

The failed attempt at an ice concentration camp in Merrimack NH was a deal to take an empty warehouse off of Harlan Crow, real estate oligarch and SCOTUS owner.

That would certainly make sense for the Avelo purchases too. They had helped DHS with ICE flights, which hurt them financially. They offloaded their oldest planes for much more than they were worth.
