I customized ChatGPT by telling it to be concise. So it adds extra nonsense to its responses telling me how concise and no-nonsense it’s being.

I think the issue is that you think of its output as being some meat and potatoes and bunch of filler, to the llm the meat and potatoes and the filler are all the same gruel. It’s making porridge not Sunday roast.

Good point, I’m literally trying to take the “chat” out of a system that is specifically engineered to be excessively conversational.

You could try specifically asking for responses as bullet points. Again though you’ll likely find a lot of the bullet points are fluff.
