Children weren’t the target of federal food program changes, but they’re increasingly “collateral damage,” one expert said. The drop in the number of children receiving SNAP benefits is a “public health crisis” in the making, said another expert.

How do you know they weren't the target? The children of the poor have always been expendable at best and just as often undesirable "dead weight" for capitalists when labor markets are saturated

Well, it's been a long time since I've laid eyes on something and couldn't immediately tell if it was nonsense or on to something, so congrats for that at least

Nearly a year later, at least 776,000 fewer children are receiving SNAP benefits, a "public health crisis" in the making, according to experts. Resulting Judgement: (-1.0, -1.0) — Greater Evil

Verdict: FAIL — The Path of Destruction. The stated claim of protecting children is directly contradicted by the reality of a significant drop in their access to essential food assistance.

I would argue they were the targets along with the rest of their family because Republicans DGAF about poor people in general but especially when they think most poor people getting the benefit are minorities.

"Children weren’t the target of federal food program changes" 'Must always be eagerly fair to the monsters' feels like an immovable principle of contemporary journalism.

The odds that impoverished kids weren't the Republicans' targets are lower than 1 in a million. Ever since Reagan became president, the Republicans have been waging a war against children. Under Trump's "leadership" their war's become increasingly vicious.

Republican governors and legislators in many cases recognize the long-term savings of preventive programs. But they can't manage to convince local voters to replace federal funds with State taxes. It's a challenge at odds with their rhetoric.

You have a society that is okay providing help like SNAP benefits yet ignores the problem of a livable wage? Without a livable wage you've taken away the motivation to self improve, perpetuating poverty. If you're feeding other's children at schools you discourage families from self-reliance. UBI

This is a heinous crime against children as are the crimes in the Epstein files. We must advocate and protect children. Keep track of which Dems vote for these crimes to continue. Then vote them out. We must stand united for ourselves and all children. 💙

it’s important to understand that the “they are useless, hungry mouths to feed that aren’t worth it” rhetoric that started all of this very intentionally didn’t exclude children
