H/t to a fellow Alt for sharing this (you know who you are 😉) FedGov has declared itself exempt from the Constitution, all of it, basically. Let me walk you through this so you’ll understand all the ways this is a direct attack on every American. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

whitehouse.govAddressing State and Local Failures to Rebuild Los Angeles After Wildfire DisastersBy the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: Section 1.  Purpose.

Okay, so what big corporate buddies of Donald's are in Los Angeles and need to bypass the normal zoning laws and procedures for bigger profits, I wonder? Plus, you know, those same corporate welfare junkies who want to "rebuild" on the taxpayer dime?

And obviously this administration has never tried to go toe-to-toe against a county permit inspector with an axe to grind.

HMGP funding is for mitigation projects and planning. It doesn't go to individuals or small businesses, unless their properties are being bought out (in which case the building rights are extinguished and any structures removed). There's a big difference between Individual Assistance funds and HMGP.

Well, first of all, reconstruction is a long process. As he himself stated in there, the clean-up itself took months. A year and a half later, Appalachia hasn't fully recovered from Helene, either. (Not that he cares about Appalachia.) Of course, attempts to block FEMA funds also delay rebuilding...

Our Federal government was created by our State governments. Those state governments agreed to share some powers and to reserve others. Among the ones they reserved is what we call the general police power. It’s the power to regulate, legislate, and enforce all matters not explicitly ceded to FedGov

E.g., in CA, and everywhere else, that includes power to hire and deploy public safety personnel, to plan and administer public infrastructure, and to enact zoning and building codes and to guarantee compliance whether he likes it or not.

Well, instead of respecting the core of federalism, he’s shitting on everything everywhere all at once. Every gd thing in this exec order is a full frontal violation of the Constitution based on easily disposable lies and bogus law.

This is a grifters dream. replace pre-approval requirements, with a requirement that builders self-certify that they have complied with all applicable substantive State and local health and safety standards with respect to the structure proposed to be rebuilt using Federal emergency-relief funds

Ask Boeing how that self-responsible stuff went. John Barnett would be a good one to ask. Oh wait...
