I have new contacts and glasses coming and I am so excited for them, it's like anticipating a new album from a favorite band. After decades getting ripped off by the Luxottica monopoly, new lenses feel like a such a ridiculous bargain for such higher quality. brb gotta reload the usps tracker

I've been going to an independent optometrist for years and somehow his glasses always end up costing an arm and half a leg but hot damn do they last; those lenses are bullet proof

Bought online from a competitor. I remember paying $600 for a pair of glasses in the late 90s; this month for $200 I got a much lighter, nicer pair with fancy anti-reflective coatings and clip-on shades, _plus_ a cheap backup pair.

Doesn’t look like they’re owned by them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zenni_O... I don’t know how many lens manufacturing companies exist, or which storefronts use which. I’m happy to pay a tenth of what I used to.
