There are literally tens of millions of USAians who grew up being taught in evangelical Sunday Schools that they would see the end of the world in their lifetimes. Many of those are now in positions of power in government, media, and military, and they’re getting impatient.

The entire time, people who *really* want to see the world end so they can see Jesus return have been crawling all over the apparatuses of government, military, and media that would let them test their faith. Those people are crawling all over the apparatuses right now.
