She gave permission for screenshots for posterity since she's about to deactivate, so I wanted to preserve these in particular. This is why I was going on about this issue so much last night amidst all of the lamentations in the passive voice. A lot of this awfulness is self-inflicted.

I had really harsh words for her a while back but I regret that now, tbh. if I’ve learned anything from being too online it’s that I should treat people with the kindness and grace I would like to be treated with

I saw so many other trans people lamenting the double-helix of harassment directed at Ana Valens and Parker Malloy, but implying or even outright stating that the only perpetrators were cis and/or reactionaries.

While cis folks were involved and definitely jump at the chance to attack us, the dynamic of trans people doing this to ourselves is often ignored because it's uncomfortable to talk about. Why? Because then we'd have to re-evaluate our own social media-driven behaviour.

Because, well, we all know as a people we're Extremely Fucking Online. There are good reasons for this; finding each other, finding help, digitally escaping from conservative areas or challenging home lives. We often *need* to digitally network in order to find "trans community."
