it sucks that they're trying to ruin the world cup for everyone because this place rips, there is so much cool shit to do here

also it's always the most lowbrow shit that people find magical, which I love you take a foreign visitor to denny's at one in the morning and they never want to leave

"What kind of backwoods redneck bullshit is thi...holy shit this is amazing!" Keep the scenery and recreation, ditch the racism and reationary politics. "Okay, get in the tube." "Then what?" "Hold on to the straps." "Why?" "We're gonna tow you behind the boat at 45 MPH." "WHAAAAAAAAAA?! OMG FUN!!"

Hahah one of my favourite moments in the US was tubing down the Frio in Texas, and as we were lounging around in a calm part, an older couple came drifting by: two people, three tubes, because the third tube between them supported their GIGANTIC cooler, and I have never been so jealous in my life.

No real lazy rivers in Maine, so our "tubing" is more like water skiing. Getting outside the boat's wake and into choppy water while the boat is screaming around a corner is about as thrilling as it gets :)
