Finished reading the DSQL paper. It's surprisingly readable. While the early 2010s era evangelized eventual consistency everywhere, recent years have harkened back to strongly consistent DBs. But this time you get snapshot isolation in a multi-region active-active DB.

Is readability similar to DynamoDB paper which was published back in ~2022? It was easy to read and understand. But some papers can be overwhelming

Yes. Super readable and devoid of academic jargons. Overall, I highly recommend reading this alongside the dynamo and the s3 paper. Plus this sector of ACID compliant active-active DBs are super exciting. What if we didn't have to let go of SQL ergonomics to get low latency MR database!
