The existence of women's sports is a historical one that was reinforced at regular intervals by patriarchal assumptions that women are more fragile and need to be "protected" It doesn't reflect any statistical truth (1/2)

By the way here is some data on trans people's performance in sports bjsm.bmj.com/content/58/1... And here are some interesting articles on sex categories in sports journals.library.wustl.edu/lawreview/ar... www.researchgate.net/publication/... Spoilers: there are no good reasons to segregate

If we're going to keep the institution of segregation we should be asking hard questions about what we're trying to do and what criteria to use instead of sweeping "opinions" on what constitutes performance indicators

I'm not against segregating, btw. I think it makes sense but I also think we should be aware of why we're doing it Ie, in some sports being heavier and stronger is an advantage so this is what we should be testing for, not gender as a proxy

if you have money to hire a personal trainer and spend all day working with them, that’s too much of an advantage, sports should be segregated by socio-economic class

finally someone said it. how did you find your first clients? that initial traction is always the hardest part any surprises along the way?
