it makes me cry every time a dev makes a game where everything is pixel art except like 2 of the main ui fonts are inexplicably clean smooth high resolution vector fonts, you NEED to COMMIT!!!!

Authenticity is overrated. It's fine to make something that looks like you remembered it, not how it was. What looks good is subjective, but authentic != good.

this isn't about retro authenticity though, this is about aesthetics and stylization, it is objectively incongruous to have a chunky pixel ui with smooth text, it rarely if ever looks good and outside of being an accessibility option, should be avoided for the sake of a coherent visual presentation
