Over on reddit there has been a trend of making a flow chart for job applications. It's very bleak, some include thousands of applications that have already been fine-tuned for each individual listing. This is just a quick example I found, it's on the Recruiting Hell sub for people going thru it.

Very depressing that someone with this education and these skills cannot get a job. Also depressing that after 2,300 fruitless applications, he still is a Republican?! He does not see the connection between his dismal job prospects and the current government?

The job market is very strange right now. I'm also wondering if there is more to this story? AI definitely cannot replace a chemical engineer.
