The cool folks from the Eurosky team just brought you a new site: eurosky.tech, portal to the Atmosphere. I'd say it's the crispest explanation so far of what the Atmosphere brings: 1. one account 2. that works with a bunch of apps, and 3. your data from all apps is yours, portable, interoperable.

its 99% there, but atmosphere is a **new word** so try talking to people about it and then having to explain this new word A simpler word is open social, i think @buildwithtori.com can vouch for how end users understand this word (watched her talk)

I hear that, but there are downsides too. "Open social" covers things that people have tried and often hated, so it can backfire. More generally, I think that "open" is a problematic word, used with its libertarian implications unexamined.

makes sense, i guess only time will tell what works best - i want atproto/atmosphere/opensocial/whatever to win how we get there is not my religion

Yeah same, whatever ends up working so long as it works. The only value in spending time on it is in figuring out what's attractive to people.

With some feasible changes, AP could be implemented on top of the protocol primitives that drive AT and partake in the same benefits. I definitely think it's worth doing.
