look at this cute dog! that's the only good thing about wsocial, is that it expands atproto by introducing it to other people. but @wsocial.eu is playing dirty, they state that a user owns their data, but after completing an identity verification, the user DOES NOT OWN SHIT (1/2)

because on the users PDS, there is nothing written to their PDS that they completed age verification apparently the user above is human verified, but if you visit their PDS there is no attestation or anything that other atproto apps can use to identify this this means 100% lock-in for wsocial only

also it is completely bonkers that @bsky.app requires you to select a "Hosting Provider" on login and i have to remember whatever @eurosky.social's address is. guys, if you want this decentralization thing to happen, it should not suck so much to use! the Bluesky app should just read it from my DID

There is a shit ton of bots on Bluesky / W (more like L) and any other atproto app

Happy to join W. With President @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu and @ec.europa.eu on board too, we want to diversify our online presence. W is European. User friendly. Privacy preserving. With no bots. Let’s stay connected, across Europe and beyond.

Why choose a commercial entity that just went closed-source when a non-commercial one that builds in the open exists? (namely @eurosky.social) Didn't you just (exactly 2 weeks ago) reaffirm your support to open source “for Europe’s technological sovereignty”?

locked out for 4 weeks, ig next time I post its in 2 months? anyway see u in XXX for PSC

Dave@dave.self.surf

hiiii haven't been on bsky for 2 weeks (locked myself out lol) here is an unpopular opinion amongst bsky/atproto developers atmosphere account is not a better solution to internet handle see my leaflet: hottakes.leaflet.pub/3mjwacdmlo22o

Yet again I remind everyone (as Elizabeth does in her very next tweet) that "foreigners are corrupting our pure blood with weakness & disease" is Fascism 101. Not some variant, not some metaphorically similar thing, not some echo -- the thing itself.

RFK Jr. just said that immigration is to blame for the outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases in the U.S., not him.

currently using "No Account Lock-in"

Account Ownership is such a terrible term to describe AT Protocol identities ... help, anyone has a better wording for this pls

Interestingly, what is the Atmosphere? Is it only atproto? Is it only bluesky? maybe atmosphere is only when it is built on both?

Okay so here’s my actual Bluesky-is-dying hypothesis: The entire web is dying. Users aren’t going from BlueSky to another site (x/insta/threada/tiktok). Users are going to chatbots. I know traffic to news sites has cratered (like 90%). My hunch is traffic to all the social platforms is down too.

Yeah because I tried Mastodon in good faith and it was the social media experience of eating bran flakes while being glowered at by an angry German
