I imagine in practice this would be done by pressuring companies to block the EU as a whole (so you can bypass it with VPN), but I'm a bit shocked with the inclusion of Signal in the app list. I imagine they would not comply?

Signal runs on AWS, so it can just be shut down that way :-/ They're not happy about it, but it's not like planet-scale cloud providers that can do real-time video are all over.

Surely Netflix, Facebook, Amazon and Youtube are NOT the “building blocks of our lives”? Odd set of values in that description. Finance and government / business need full digital autonomy. Those are the priorities. But life still goes on without Youtube.
