This aligns with another thing I've been thinking about (but perhaps harder): in the EU, you can now have alternate app stores on your phone. What if we had on-protocol app stores? @trezy.codes covers a lot of the bits below, content moderation handles safety, social graph recommendations. Neat?

Here's the short version: - Creator uploads work somewhere - Creator makes a space that contains access to the work - User purchases the work thru a storefront - User is added to the space with access to the work - User copies work into their own space (e.g. their library)

Yes, absolutely, but the reason I'd prefer waiting to have a bit more is that I've been in touch with them on another topic and they seem to be insanely busy. I don't want to take up their time without something a bit more concrete.
