Checked in w/oldest on how college is going. She’s working on her final project (her school does one class for 3 1/2 weeks then a break &then do a different class). The class is data visualization and she’s doing a paper and presentation on a timeline of Covid rates based on various interventions.

Sadly, as I sort of expected, they’ve been dealing with some confusion and nastiness from folk who don’t realize there is more than one Cornell. I told her they should sell tshirts that say “not THAT Cornell” and probably it will pay their tuitions. share.google/qpmerQ6Mm5TD...

But apparently it’s also making for some good campus convos. Which, as someone who went there and lived in a house that offered a “safe” room for people who experienced assault, I am happy to see is occurring.

I went there, too. We spent a lot of time saying “You know we were here first.” When I was there the Ithaca was trying to force the Iowa to change its name. Now apparently there are kids who applied to both and picked Iowa because Ithaca campus rubbed them wrong.
