"For married women, it gives unrealistic expectations of sex, often leading to disappointment in our marriages...For unmarried women, these books will do nothing but give you unrealistic expectations for when you do get married."

I’ve had a song in my head all day and have been singing snippets of it on and off and decided I want to listen to it. I went to my Apple Music library and it was at the top. I do NOT have Siri on my phone. So what is listening to me?

I’m in the lobby for a med thing for my husband and just saw my first anti Tuberville ad and really? That was as harsh as they could get?

There is a man with my name somewhere in Quebec I believe with a very close email address to me, and I love to live vicariously through him because he lives the best life. He’s always getting concert tickets and hotels and now he just bought a Porsche. I have a whole fantasy in my head about him.

There are so many things wrong with AI social posts, but I think the one bothering me the most right now is that people pretend they aren't using it, but that weird glossy shine to the image makes it clear they really are.

Sometimes I wonder if I was a good parent. Then I wake up to a message from my oldest asking for info to help her friends source hormones because their parents are “not cool” and I think I did okay…

Last year Alabama had a law introduced that would allow pregnant women to defer prison until after birth. I was iffy on it - I was worried it could be used to track and criminalize miscarriages. But now I’m 100% in favor. Birth in prison is just too dangerous.

The announcement that she died in jail came last week with the same vitriol- a sentiment from the reporters and the audience that dying in jail was an appropriate and fitting punishment for her. Lots of comments saying those exact words.

But when this last story published - one that included all the court records this time as well as contact with her family, it all changed. She was finally seen as a victim, too, held without bond in a prison with no medical facility when she was just months from birth.

The original coverage of her arrest was the standard mug shot, the story of a malnourished baby who had been left all day and the probability of alleged child abuse and neglect. And the reaction was exactly as you would expect.

Would also like to point out AI tools are being tested in medical records systems without consent, with medical providers being forced to take on the risk of hipaa violations. Ask me how much cyber insurance I had to purchase this week…

Checked in w/oldest on how college is going. She’s working on her final project (her school does one class for 3 1/2 weeks then a break &then do a different class). The class is data visualization and she’s doing a paper and presentation on a timeline of Covid rates based on various interventions.

Sadly, as I sort of expected, they’ve been dealing with some confusion and nastiness from folk who don’t realize there is more than one Cornell. I told her they should sell tshirts that say “not THAT Cornell” and probably it will pay their tuitions. share.google/qpmerQ6Mm5TD...

share.googleIowa’s Cornell College: You’ve got the wrong Cornell“We are aware that there has been some confusion between Cornell College and New York’s Cornell University, which has recently been in the news regarding sexual assault,” Cornell spokeswoman Jill Hawk...

But apparently it’s also making for some good campus convos. Which, as someone who went there and lived in a house that offered a “safe” room for people who experienced assault, I am happy to see is occurring.

I’ve been watching the Morning Show for the last few weeks and maybe these events aren’t far enough away for me to keep going…

oofff...one of my neighbors is in day 2 of roof replacement. Here's hoping they get all the new shingles on before #isaias hits land...

Me, on linkedin, totally killing it on content that I'm sure appeals to people so rich that they have to dump a certain amount of their wealth every year to not get in trouble with the IRS...

thanks for making me root for the storm...

“A hurricane is going in the vicinity of Alabama? That’s not good,” President Donald Trump said. “Certainly, I’m going to let the hurricane determine. I want people to be safe, that’s all.”

I need someone to explain this whole "HalfmyDAF" thing because as far as I can tell you have to be someone who has a DAF to suggest orgs to get grants and if I already had a DAF or knew DAF folk I would 100% already be on this and not looking for a way in. Seriously, how do you get DAF donors?

Because I mean for real - this is just another of those "rich folk are gated off and you need to already know them to get to actual funding"

I am currently having a lot of thoughts about Alito I will not put online but I promise you every single one of them is EXTREMELY concrete...

I spent yesterday at a small gathering to plan an agenda and training for the next year for the Alabama Perinatal Task Forces Community Action Group and if we were just given all the damn resources and let loose I swear we’d have the outcomes dramatically improved in just two or three years, tops.

I would very much like to read more of the transcript but TIME has so many pop ups and AI prompts in it that it keeps crashing the page there
