Some positives, because I've been a bit harsh, so far: - Detective noir vibes for daaaaays - Susie!! - Genuinely good voice acting, interesting characters - Fantastic soundtrack - Gorgeous art - Well thought-out world, dense with exploration - You can pet a horse!! Also, a cat!

Silver Pines gets an 8/10 from me. The 2 docked points are because of the combat. Boy howdy, does the combat suck ass. I'd recommend playing it on Tense difficulty. Having what is ostensibly the "hard" difficulty be the "intended" first experience in a game like this is awful.

The story, while interesting, is trying to mash-up too many of its influences. It's obviously influenced by Silent Hill and Twin Peaks, but it's also trying to be Memento, which... is obvious from the very first scene in the game...
