Finally bit the bullet and installed ESP32 controllers in all my mini splits and I feel like such an idiot for not having just done so sooner

ESPHome is an incredible piece of software. Feels magical.

On the one hand I wish it had better Zigbee support on the other it seems like a growing wave of game changer for diy home auto. Easily the next arduino.

Mitsubishi’s first party thing apparently sucks and runs you hundreds per unit. It’s really a terrible option in comparison.
