Paramount's so desperate for their GOP-backed Skydance merger, they paid Trump hush money and axed Colbert — selling out journalism and the 1st amendment to appease an autocrat and his billionaire enablers 👇 bsky.app/profile/that...
🔥 Paramount & Trump’s Quid-Pro-Quo Let’s say the quiet part out loud — since the media won’t. 📺 CBS’s parent company, Paramount, just gave Trump $16 million to settle a bogus defamation lawsuit over a 60 Minutes piece with Kamala Harris. No apology. No fault. Just a fat check. 🧵(1 of 7)👇
This is only the beginning. Notice how many names from this post have already come under fire from this administration.
I agree but consider what comes next. It won’t stop with Paramount. How long before he pressures Google to pull his content from YouTube? Or goes after HBO or whatever network hosts him next? Trump has been an open critic of Colbert and it’s likely that he’s perusing his personal “retribution.”
I give the WH less than a month before they start demanding CBS fire specific journalists. bsky.app/profile/mr-y...
Paramount executives and owners: “Well now that we paid off the bully and cancelled the most viewed late show I’m sure our brands will not be affected in any way whatsoever and the bully will leave us alone forever.”
