You do you, but the whole point of cosmopolitanism is supposed to be that your moral horizons extend beyond your own tribe, no matter what you think of them (or what they actually are).

i do unironically think people that are cosmopolitan need sorta paradoxically be more chauvinist about it tbh. places and people that are cosmopolitan in outlook are better than places that are provincially minded. the kind of performative handwringing about not being 'authentic' is bad and weak.
