real strong claim here that the AMA lied about reaching out to them for a correction. I would be surprised if that were the case!

The New York Times’s body of reporting on the American Medical Association’s stance on gender-related care for minors is accurate and factual, and remains so despite the recent statement from the Chair of the A.M.A. Board, which contradicts the A.M.A.’s own statements. www.nytco.com/press/fact-c...

we've probably both been in the situation where somebody asks for a correction (or responds to a request for comment) but they ask the wrong person/somebody who doesn't work there anymore/sends it to an email nobody monitors

No doubt. Reminds me of the time I sent multiple public records request to a government agency, got no response, finally emailed the general counsel and got an email reply telling me that no one checks the public records request email listed on their website.

A bizarre trend in mainstream coverage of "trans issues" is strongly implying that absolutely massive numbers of professionals are committing gross malpractice and conspiring to cover it up, and then getting very indignant if anyone points out that's what they're doing.

Yeah, I have nothing but loathing for Jeremy Peters going way back but seeing him assert that there is a conspiracy of medical researchers to advance a trans agenda or something was genuinely shocking to me. These very serious people are fucking nuts.

I’m currently trying to work out whether they are manually hiding almost all of the replies to this, or whether they have some automated system trying to do it, as hilariously this reply from me still seems to be visible logged out, but it’s one of only two that actually is.

For the staffer whose job it apparently is to hide all the replies pointing out your employer is lying about trans people again, is this really what you want to do with your life?

Or is it Bluesky itself doing the hiding? I know Bluesky added an inscrutable ML-based system to autohide replies (that you can’t disable, yay stackable moderation..), but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it quite this active. My first reply got hidden, so did this one.

This is embarrassing.

Go to your settings and check your filters for if "rude" posts are turned off/ hidden. they're set to hide by default and it's absolutely ridiculous what counts!
