There are 15 teams of 12 players in the WNBA = 180 players. The 2.3% who are registered Republican would be just over 4 players. Assuming they did not sample the entire league, it is quite possible that it is just Sophie Cunningham.

I did not factor in that a bunch of those 180 players are not USian and I would assume are not included at all. So I think at most they found 3 Republicans.

Another little note: this is based on the 2025 season, before two expansion teams, so it's 2.3% out of a maximum 156 players, for a maximum of 3. Subtract the non-USians and assume they didn't sample the whole league and yeah, it's probably 1 or 2.
