HAPPENING NOW: 100s of striking Starbucks workers and community allies are gathering in front of Starbucks's headquarters in Seattle. If the company continues to ignore our calls for fair contracts and resolving unfair labor practices, we'll keep getting louder! #NoContractNoCoffee

Wait. There is more here than headlines show. Starbucks already pays frontline far beyond minimum wage, (unlike say Dunkin Donuts). Their CEO pay is outrageous, but that Is only remedied by shareholders. SWorkers do deserve to have concerns addressed: schedule consistency, a buy in to HC plan.

The minimum pay in Seattle is 3 times the federal minimum wage. Starbucks pays frontline workers that and more. The strike isn’t over pay issues but over control of schedules . Go after AMZN again. They really, really need union support.

I worked for Starbucks in one of the original stores in Seattle and again years later in Washington, DC. One of the BEST companies I ever worked for… salary, insurance, continued education, etc. What are the conditions now that prompt this protest??

I don’t shop regularly because of price & non organic… but frankly, I’d investigate farming practices…and farmer remuneration before Starbuck employees conditions. I’m sure there are isolated workplace infractions but I doubt the norm. And wary of organizers as my post has been muted…. WHY??

Union baristas are on an unfair labor practice strike protesting union busting & demanding a fair union contract and a better future at Starbucks. Want Starbucks to bring us new proposals that raise pay, increase hours, fix understaffing, address the hundreds of outstanding unfair labor practices.
