Alas. I work on one of the poorest Indian reservations in the nation. The profits from the fireworks keeps 2 other businesses afloat.

My cats have proven highly resistant to 4th of July bangs. That being said, I'm glad our town's fireworks display is on the other side of the city this year.

Two of my cats are deaf, one lives in my lap 24/7 anyway and the other three are losing their collective minds. I hate this.

If we provided explosives to dogs and cats, which they could control and trigger whenever they desired, this might mitigate their fear of fireworks. Also, some squirrels would be a lot less arrogant.

Mine don't care about the 4th of July, nor the air show at the nearby airport. But if I sneeze....

Maisie got her first sound of firework yesterday. Definitely freaked her out, which means I'm staying home tonight.

And your humans, come to that.

Time for my dog to start living under my bed. Luckily my cat is old enough that she is basically dead to these things.

In a just world, those types would be short a few fingers.

Oh, and to be clear, the dogs seem fine with it.

My cats are not especially afraid of fireworks but I don’t trust all the assholes out and I don’t trust 1 of my cats to be smart enough to come in when she should so they are all staying in today. They are not happy about it though. Plus it’s too fucking hot

Are your pets used to loud noises because of all of your electric twangers?

It's too hot for animals to be outside for long. Cats should never go outside. If they mess with a dead bird or other infected animal they can get bird flu and die a gruesome death.

What about my partner who was too distracted by futbol to let the dog out to pee before the fireworks started? Can I put him outside?

My cat just looks annoyed when she hears fireworks. Like, the AUDACITY!

My cat wasn't phased by this display, but my sister's dog is. No two pets react the same. (Just like people, but less able to understand.)
