Honestly much of science fiction/fantasy written by right-wing people is perfectly competent and readable, and some of them write very well. And it's often difficult to tell someone's politics from a text of fiction; when Old Man's War came out, many people assumed from it that I was conservative.

This makes me curious as to what falls into the right-wing Sci-fi genre and I kind of want to read it just to see if it would be as bad as I imagine it would be.

The right-wing objection to me and my work happened largely not because of the plain text of any of my fiction, but because of my writing about politics and social issues in other places, and also because I've had a better career than they have had, and life is a zero-sum game to a lot of them.

I actually recommend your sci fi books to parents of and my relatives who are women, specifically because of all of the strong women characters. I have seen (in MY profession) first hand what strong female leadership can do, and I am convinced that it is something we need to encourage.

I'll never fully understand how the person who wrote "The Porcelain Salamander" turned into or out to be such a retrograde person.

Well, at least, when I don't get my way my ego doesn't require me to manufacture a vast conspiracy of women, gays and minorities dedicated to sole cause of keeping me down, which means more brain cycles for hobbies and friends

More public discussion is needed about the "Life is a zero sum game" mindset among conservatives. It encapsulates the attitude so well, and the more it's explored publicly the more it will be interrogated.
