Fuck the Supreme Court and do whatever it fucking takes to vote in this election. Have a plan and a back up plan because the GOP plan is to keep you from voting.

Delivering a mail-in ballot to a drop box won’t help if USPS won’t deliver the ballot to you in the first place. No one other than USPS can put items in your mailbox. Not clear what states can do

I live in Australia and, unlike many other countries which actually want their citizens to vote, US embassies don’t facilitate in-person voting. So it’s mail in ballots or my right to vote is *poof*.

Blue states should deliver their own ballots and keep federal tax withholdings they collect from state workers to cover the expense. Show this bullshit for what it is: Republicans are stealing from us. Stealing our tax dollars. Stealing our whole country.

If your only law if Wilhoit's Law, you don't have one, and if your only legitimacy is from the law (such as the Supreme Court), that means you don't have any. Once you have no legitimacy, the law will not protect you. Perhaps they ought to think this through.

And check in with your local Registrar of Voters…see if they are recruiting like they need staff for the polling places. Pay is $0 to crappy, hours are long, and bring your throat lozenges for the talking. But if this goes bad, we’re all gonna need a LOT more polling places.

A friendly reminder, you no longer have a moral, or ethical requirement to fallow the laws of this Country, but you are responsible for the consequences if you break them.

Hell, I'm lucky that I can either walk or bike my way to the town hall where the voting is taking place. Not many people have that option. Everyone, get your plans out to vote no matter how the rulings work. Trump doesn't have the last word, all right? Don't let him win!

I'm not remotely defending SCOTUS but it needs to be clear that all they did was say the case was not ripe for injunction b/c there's no final rule in place. It's a very large distinction from what a lot of people are reporting/saying and it bears clarification for non-lawyers and other folk 1/

who don't understand what the ruling means. As a matter of law, courts cannot hear cases where there is no "case or controversy." This is a jurisdictional thing that is foundational to the law in the US (and most anglo-influenced countries. I can't speak for the rest of the world). 2/

so there's no final rule. That means there's no controversy: nothing has changed re: mail-in voting. No one is harmed. No case/controversy. No jurisdiction. No injunction. There may never be a final rule, in which case no prelim injunction was ever needed. But what if there is a final rule?

If there's a final rule passed THEN there's a real case/controversy (on multiple levels) and a federal court can issue injunctive relief which (theoretically) would be upheld until a final judgment is reached. 4/

Time to make our stand… employers should make Election Day a company holiday. Voters should skip work if necessary. Prepare to wait in line. I’m a poll worker. Let’s do this.

I totally agree people need to vote, I personally can't vote in this because I'm in Canada. However the sheer number of 'just wait for november' posts I saw over the last year or so.... as though it would be a magic wand... voting needs to be step 1.
