There is no safe and valid business reason for AI video generation with sound other than for misinformation. Similar to when they cloned Dolly the Sheep and the world decided that human cloning wasn't cool. Folks need to decide this isn't cool.

I can think of a couple uses. In movies where a scene may be too dangerous or expensive for traditional CGI, etc. In fill. But I prefer practical effects to CGI and gen vids look even weirder. Games, dynamic cinematics opens some roguelite possibilities. Prefer the Hades story model though for that.

Oh and only thing stopping the Dolly like human clones is that somatic cell nuclear transfer isn't that great based on the research thus far. More likely to see cloned organs to come out of it if anything. The UN "ban" is rather nebulous and nonbinding at best.

Agree, when I watched what VEO3 can do I was very unsettled. Like you said it's great for misinformation and making cheap ads to hopefully make money. That's all it is. Junk.

Entertainment seems like a pretty obvious exception to that. Movies, TV, Video Games, Porn, etc. could all use AI video to reduce costs or even be generated on-demand or interactively.

Things 'AI' video generation is used for: 1. Misinformation 2. Disinformation 3. Non-consensual intimate imagery 4. CSAM (IT'S DIRECTLY IN THE DATA SET) 5. Scams (deepfake celebrity ads) 6. Marketing departments making ads featuring BIPOC people for 'diversity' without needing to hire them

I agree. The common man can’t handle the ability to make video with audio. Adobe Premier isn’t cool either. Personally I don’t think photoshop is cool either. You can photoshop women naked, that software shouldn’t exist.
