Yes lockdown was really tough for kids. Lots of those kids are teenagers now so maybe as a thank you our establishments could stop deliberately making even more things worse for them due to a weird systemic hatred of our own youth

Maybe us less young folk could make a few sacrifices for the greater good, like the younger generation still having a livable planet when they're our age. Like not driving a tank to b&q, or being able to look at a solar farm without having a tantrum, or making that village fete poster ourselves

And stfu about 'national service', they did it! We watched them sacrifice 2 years of youth for the greater good & the establishment barely drew breath from crying about lost dinner parties to call us all lazy & resume kicking. Climate collapse. Entry level jobs destroyed by fucking AI.

And now banned from even socialising online bc of a refusal to deal with radicalisation that is coming from a middle aged hyper rich elite. Pushed after a transphobic murder while transphobia is applauded & made law. Gvt still using X, a nazi-owned radicalisation & CSAM machine.

Yes, hard on teenagers, their indépendance and social life cut so brutally. Older people were happier because they could take a break and reset. They had a very different perspective and some were pleased to have no social whirl.

Young people demonstrate to the wealthy and the powerful that all their dreams of dominance are ephemeral, and that mortality will win in the end. They’re also paranoid about supporting the next generation of leaders, who will only grow up to stab them in the back (by living and thriving).

Don't forget the shitty, plastic uniforms they have to wear for 6 hours a day. Uncomfortable, appropriate for no weather, unlike adults' office attire and likely to end up in landfill. It's a symptom of the antipathy shown by the establishment towards young people

The thing which has (already) pissed me off about Andy Burnham is the populist garbage about “encouraging kids to do ‘common sense’ courses such as plumbing, blah, blah). Encourage them to do whatever they want - like the current MP was himself.

Lockdown was really tough for some kids. Others who had always been brutalised by the system as it stands actually thrived under the new operating conditions. And then were forced back to school anyway to catch covid five times.

No chance. Older generations have always blamed younger generatfor all their problems and mistakes. It's tradition. Only this time kids won't own a house or have a meaningful job that pays more than half that you need to survive.
